Bug Description

When a new entry is created in the 'MATE menu editor' and selected in this 'Application in Terminal', an error message appears.

An example:
System -> Preferences -> Main Menu

+New Item

Type: Application in Terminal
Name: Systembackup
Command: sudo /usr/local/sbin/sysbackup
Comment: Systembackup

Now I start the new entry Systembackup, get a window with the error message:
--
Error

Could not launch 'Systembackup'

Failed to execute child process "xterm"
(No such file or directory)
--

I create following link:
~$ sudo ln -s /usr/bin/mate-terminal /usr/bin/gnome-terminal

then it works and the script is executed in the terminal.

I can confirm this bug. I have tested it on Ubuntu 14.04 with Mate 1.8.
When starting 'Application in Terminal', it start in Xterm (if Xterm is installed) instead of mate-terminal.

Also confirmed on Ubuntu MATE 14.10 RC.

Changed in ubuntu-mate:
status: New → Triaged
importance: Undecided → Low
