Bug Description
Synaptic incorrectly attempts to use pkexec when launched under the XDG-recognized Trinity Desktop Environment. There is an override already present in Synaptic for KDE users in the file /usr/share/
As precedent for special treatment has already been set for KDE I see no reason why this could not be done for TDE as well.
Thanks!

I can provide a patch against Synaptic if desired.
