Bug Description

On the cellular settings page, the SIM identifiers are inconsistent, sometimes it's the phone number, sometimes it the SIM number it seems (see screenshot).

This depends on what the SIM reports. For the SIM being represented by the SIMS number, can you find the phone number in the ouput of
/usr/share/ofono/scripts/list-modems # on your phone, requires ofono-scripts package
?

Thanks for reporting this.

Thomas, is that still an issue, can you provide the request informations?
(note that you masked the phone numbers on the first part of the screenshot but not on the bottom one, you might want to do that)

Yes this is still an issue. Running the above script, SimManager only returns SubscriberNumbers for one of the SIMs. That's probably why it falls back to SubscriberIdentity.

I agree it is not optional. If we could find a identifier on the SIM certain to be unique, we could allow the user to set the phone number for each SIM, as we allow a name to be set for each SIM.

Edit SIM details -> [name] [phone number]

We then tie this to the subscriber number (if guaranteed to exist on all SIMs and be unique).
