Bug Description

Mako rtm r72

I am not sure where to post this bug, so I post it here. Feel free to move it elsewhere if this is not the correct place to post it.

In the last two images for mako (171 & 172) it is not working properly. Either I can't pull the menu down more than 10-15 mm or it flickers while being pulled down.

Image 171/172? Or rtm 71/72? Could you please record a video of the broken behaviour, I can't reproduce here?

This problem occurred as of mako-rtm image 71 and still persists with r75. I have attached av video showing the problem. Is it software related or could it be faulty hardware?

I am starting to wonder if this is actually a deliberate, new behaviour of the pull down menu as it is consistent between upgrades since mako-rtm #71?

Press-and-hold anywhere on the indicator bar reveals about 15 mm of the pull down menu, but a continued swipe from there doesn't reveal more of that menu. Instead it goes back to its invisible state. A quick (really quick) downward swipe pulls down the entire menu, but it is really difficult to get it right. Gone is the previously smooth downward swipe that pulled the menu down to where I stopped the swipe or, if long enough, would leave the menu pulled all the way down.

Is there anything in the UI that has changed recently that could have affected this behaviour?

It looks like there's something causing the indicator to dismiss while you're dragging it.

I cannot rule out that this is a hardware issue. Following the "no go" mako-rtm #82 I flashed my phone back to Android, before putting UT back again. In the short while I was on Android I experienced a somewhat strange behaviour with the pull down menu there too...

That sounds plausible, then. Do you have a screen cover / phone case?
Something that could confuse the touch screen?

No, I don't use any screen protector, never has. I have dropped the phone a few times with the Nexus 4 bumper case on, so no broken screen. However, I don't know if something broke inside, because since then (which also coincided with the upgrade to mako-rtm #71) the top of the screen seems less responsive. It seems as if it works better with just a light touch than if I press harder...

Hopefully it is not giving up on me, but I also noticed after last weekend's broken image failure and a flash to rtm #4 that the ring tone is much lower than before. Maybe I should just go ahead and order an MX4 (krillin?) and play with until the "real thing" arrives?
