Bug Description

Binary package hint: mysql-client-5.0

the complete error message is:
mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)'
Check that mysqld is running and that the socket: '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' exist

indeed this does not exist, and the problem seems to be in mysqld from mysql-server-5.0
for which I will file a bug report as well.

regards

Uwe Brauer
