Sending MMS fails immediately and unable to receive MMS

Using channel ubuntu-touch/ubuntu-rtm/14.09, my Nexus 4 on T-Mobile fails immediately when sending a MMS. I am also unable to receive a MMS.

I received the following next to the message: "Failed!" message with the retry icon. Retrying still fails.

The picture I am trying to send was taken with the camera on the phone, if that provides any information.

this is an issue with the backend, not messaging-app
