Bug Description

Hi,

When trying to update search index, the program asks for Sudo. Even after providing the correct password (and I quadruple checked the password), it still doesn't work.

Please note, this is with Linux Mint 17. Tried reinstall, no luck.

Okay, I figured out what the problem is, perhaps you guys can help with the solution. I use a lenovo thinkpad with a biometric fingerprint scanner enabled. There is a conflict between the fingerprint scanner and catfish search. Catfish will not accept my finger print, nor my password. If I disable the finger print scanner in BIOS, and then log in I can update catfish with my regular password.

I use fingerprint GUI to run my fingerprint scanner

Catfish no longer accepts my password. I use Lubuntu 14.04. Lenovo monitor and Dell 3000. No fingerprint.

This is a limitation in the current code. In the near future I will replace the sudo dialog with a policy file for pkexec.

This should be resolved with this commit:

Catfish now handles authentication through polkit when available, which should be able to utilize multiple authentication sources.
