Bug Description

Binary package hint: xubuntu-system-tools

Hi,

Please remove xubuntu-system-tools from the archive. Since gnome-system-tools doesn't depend on libgnome* anymore, Xubuntu has switched to it.
Moreover xubuntu-system-tools is mostly a non up-to-date duplicate of gnome-system-tools, so nobody should miss it. :)

Thanks.

gnome-system-tools sure seems to depend on libgnome*, it's getting installed along with nautilus and a great deal of gnome.

Fresh installation of xubuntu from gutsy 9/04 livecd, no new packages installed. package list was updated at 2am CST.

No, it doesn't depend anymore on libgnome*. But it recommends gnome-control-center, which brings with it lots of gnome packages when you use aptitude (or if you install recommended packages by default).
