Bug Description

Suspend/resume appears to have regressed on my laptop. After I accidentally left it unattended / off main power over night this week I got a suspend/resume failure which I assumed was a regression in critical hibernate support; but I just had the same problem again when closing the laptop lid for transport, so this seems to be a real problem.

Both times this problem has occured, I was running linux-image-3.16.0-14-generic. After the latest crash I'm now on linux-image-3.16.0-16-generic. Prior to -14-, I hadn't rebooted in a while - it looks like I was running 3.16.0-6 for about a month, and that kernel definitely had no suspend/resume problems.

I'm reporting two copies of this bug and will link between them, due to bug #1372665. (The crash reports aren't exactly the same, I'm not sure if there's information in only one of them that's relevant.)

I've just successfully suspended and resumed with linux-image-3.16.0-16-generic, so perhaps this issue is already fixed.

That is good news that suspend/resume is working with 3.16.0-16. Utopic is now at 3.16.0-17. Just post if the issue comes back with newer updates.
