Bug Description
If you press cancel instead of selecting a directory for the backup will generate an error message stating that the backup failed. Selecting Cancel should not generate any erroe messages since it is something that you choose to do.
The solution to this problem is simple. Just check the returned string from the dir-widget.
I have attached a patch to fix it.

The same problem existed for merge and restore so i included those fixes to in the patch.
