chat notification doesn't work

Thunderbirg in the 14.04 stable has the chat feature. There is default chat notification enabled and sound notification enabled (Preferences/Chat - Show notification). I have this one checked.
When I setup new XMPP (Jabber) account and new message arrived to me, thunderbird doesn't notify me about that.
This makes the chat feature useless. I expect same notification as for new email.

This error is shown in the error console:

Any comment from staff? The problem persists in current Thunderbird 3.1.2.
Because Thunderbird is default communication application in Ubuntu, using all its features without any obstacles is important. Chat is currently useless.

Hey, It seems that this problem with chat notifications is gone. Notifications works fine in thunderbird 38.2.0 in supported LTS 14.04.
I don't know how it's possible, maybe someone accidentally fixed it, so keep it please.

Closing this bug report as issue was fixed some time ago. Anyone still seeing a problem with chat notifications should open a new report with "ubuntu-bug thunderbird" in a terminal so that their own log files are attached.
