Bug Description

Since the GTK+2 update that was pushed into Gutsy a couple of days ago, I get distorted pointer bitmaps, weird screen flashing and, in the end, nearly totally black screen - except from a handful of notification area icons. This happens equally under GNOME and under IceWM.

Purging package xserver-xgl solved it here. Could the new GTK and that server be incompatible or would the server require a recompile before Gutsy is released?
