Implement a different kind of selection

I think it would be amazing to implement a photos selection like in this mockup http://bassultra.deviantart.com/art/Photo-Management-App-385256095 or, if it is not possible, paint the thumbs border from white to blue likes in shotwell/pantheon-photos also because the current kind of selection increase the padding and looks broke.

Yep, the current flowbox selection and rubberband sucks, I don't like it, but the only solución I see is to not use flowbox or make the flowboxchild selection transparent. We need rubberband and sort functionallity that flowbox implements.

Mmh i see :/ so the only option is to make the selection transparent and maybe implement some kind of "tic" selection as in the mock up?

the "tic" selection is still missing, but can be implemented in the future.
