wvdial 1.58-1.2ubuntu2 (gutsy) breaks gnome ppp dialog hang authenticating

hi, this is not suppose to happen but you may take it or leave it since I do not have a complete gutsy desktop HOWEVER this may help others if this is fixed when gutsy comes out with gnomeppp and wvdial

anyway when using the gutsy version of wvdial it breaks gnome ppp

example would be when dialing in it dials in just fine - authenticates fine, however it STAYS on the Authenticating dialog box and doesn't got away but again one can surf the internet yet the dialog box hangs there going back to the old version makes this issue go away...

I have it set to go straight to tray when after dialed in.

if wondering I have feisty with a GREAT MANY gutsy updates and so far so good besides a bug here and there...but that's why i said you can take it or leave it...

I can confirm the same behavior on my new Gutsy install. Dialing out with GnomePPP works--I can surf the internet--but the "Connecting..." dialog doesn't go away and it doesn't dock into the panel like it should.

My installed versions are:
Ubuntu 7.10 release
WvDial 1.56-1.2ubuntu2
gnome-ppp 0.3.23.1
