Bug Description

mako: 221
krillin: 16
last known good build: ?
Similar defect: bug 1328646

When the device is resumed by pressing the power button and the device is not connected over USB to any power source the clock on the greeter and the date/time indicator is out of sync.

TEST CASE
1. Unplug the device from its USB cable
2. Press the power button to switch to suspend mode
3. Wait a moment (several minutes)
4. Press the power button again to resume the device
5. Compare the time on the greeter and indicator with the time on another system or with the clock app.

EXPECTED RESULT
Clocks are in sync

ACTUAL RESULT
Time on the device is behind by several minutes. The time on the clock app is always correct. The screenshot attached shows that time in the indicator is 13:48 and 13:49 in the clock app (correct time) after waiting less than 10 minutes. The time difference can be several minutes.

Confirmed, I had a case today where it was a difference of 6 minutes, it's not a lot but you are checking to clock to e.g catch a bus it might be enough to make you be late

reassigning to unity8, using that command

"gdbus call --session --dest com.canonical.indicator.datetime --object-path /com/canonical/indicator/datetime --method org.gtk.Actions.Describe phone-header"

show that the indicator/dbus info are correct, it's the lockscreen/unity panel which are behind

affects: indicator-datetime (Ubuntu) → unity8 (Ubuntu)
