Bug Description
After installing updates, I've rebooted my computer, and after rebooting the resolution on the monitor was wrong (too low) and after entering my password, the unity desktop would never appear.
I switch to the console mode (ctrl+alt+f1), and ran:
[some dpkg commands to see what packages are installed]
sudo apt-get install nvidia-331
[this failed]
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo reboot
The screen was wrong again, even worse (even lower resolution).
I switched to the console again and ran:
sudo apt-get install nvidia-331
[this succeeded now]
sudo modprobe nvidia
sudo service lightdm restart
The login screen appeared in the correct resolution.
