Unable to change the refresh rate of the monitor

Bug Description

The xrandr does not work with the proprietary NVIDIA drivers, and in Unity and "NVIDIA X Server Settings" there is no option to change the refresh rate of the monitor.

Could you please run the following command once from a terminal by ensuring you have the package xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes button for attaching additional debugging information:
apport-collect -p xorg 1364199
