pantheon-files window is not able to be tiled

When wanting to tile Pantheon-Files to either 50% left or 50% right, that is not possible.

I can tile Files just fine. Could you upload a video of this?

Additionally, does this happen with other apps?

No, it seems to be only Files which has the problem of not being tiled.

I've the same problem and i found out that the problem occurs when the window of pantheon-files is very large (approximately over 75% of the screen)...then you can't tile it half the screen. When i will make the window smaller...it works like it should.

With a multiple (3) monitor set-up, I find that Files will tile to 50% on the left hand side of the left-most monitor provided its width is less than approx 75% of the monitor. On the right-hand monitor, however the width has to be less than about 50% for it to tile. I have no idea what is causing this!

I have now found the cause and the linked branch fixes it.

This bug is due to a problem in FIles not in Gala.
