codelite 2.8 in newest ubuntu is extremely old version

Bug Description
please provide a new version of codelite as package, or remove the package completely.
currently, version 2.8.0.4537 is in the ubuntu software repos, but the newest version of codelite is 6.0.1!!!

Hi,
As the author of CodeLite IDE I ask you:
Please remove CodeLite 2.8 IDE from the Ubuntu repositories (or better: upgrade to the latest) since the 2.8 version crashes on start up (when first creating a project) this generates bad reputation and worse: people dismiss it as a "bad software" and don't bother to try the "real" codelite software
BTW: The current version is 6.1 (!) which is far more stable and productive
