Bug Description

After installing calibre version 2.0, the "system tray" icon is completely missing dispite the fact the preference "Enable system-tray icon" is selected or re-selected and calibre is restarted.

This is a major inconveneince because calibre does not maintain any window presense when the main window is minimized. Once the main calibre window is minimized, calibre is completely inaccessible from the GUI.

Furthermore, it is no possible to close calibre from the GUI without the tray icon, so it is now necessary to use the command line to close calibre.

Qt 5's system tray functionality on linux is very buggy, see for example
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/25314391/system-tray-icon-doesnt-show-in-qt5-linux-lxde

It works with some window managers/desktop environments and not with
others.

Until that is fixed, I suggest disabling the tray icon in preferences
(it defaults to disabled). I might look into permanently removing
system tray functionality on linux in calibre 2.0

But, how do you quit, then? Closing the main calibre window (even with system tray disabled) does not quit calibre. And, then, there aren't any windows left to close.
