Some terminal output:

After symlinking /usr/bin/qemu-img to /usr/bin/kvm-img AND selecting other amount of RAM to emulate it works.
Guess it's a misspelling.

Altering the RAM fixes the qemu info message, but kvm-img is the main cause of the problem. This bug report mentions the same workaround: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/testdrive/+bug/1377487.
