Bug Description

[Almost] every other log file in /var/log uses logrotate... couldn't X.org do likewise?

I understand that this isn't a high-priority item, but it would be really great.

This one should be posted on bugzilla.freedesktop.org, under product xorg.
Then, link here to the upstream bug report.

This could be important for debugging Xorg crashes with compiz.
There are a number of bugs I have had in Xorg that I cannot find logs for, as I believe one crash was almost immediately followed by another.
Maybe it would be good to bump this importance to improve compiz debugging?

I don't see how the server could use logrotate, since the logfile is not like the rest of the system logs; it should be kept as a single logfile per session.

however, the server could save more than one backup. Patches are welcome :)

This isn't a duplicate at all. The other bug is asking for MORE log files, not for them to be rotated.
