Bug Description

I experienced this with Terminal but I don't know if other apps that use notifications are affected (maybe Noise with songs?)
To reproduce:
open terminal
enter a command (sudo apt-get update); minimize Terminal during the task so you'll get a notification
close terminal and reboot
after reboot open an app (Files, Maya...)
now open terminal and play a bit with it (minimize, reopen if nothig happen)

after a while it appears the notification of completed task of the previous session.

I'll post a video. It takes me a while to reproduce the bug in the video but usually it's a lot easier to make it happen (sometimes it happens the first time I open terminal).

I can confirm the issue with Terminal. It seems to resend the notification from the last session upon opening.

That feeling when you find a particularly bad solution for a problem, go investigate and find that you've approved the code yourself...

So what this "fix" does is gobble the first callback to it. And that broke notifications in more well-behaved shells than BASH, i.e. ZSH and FISH. And I'm opening a new bug about that: bug #1485372
