Thank you for taking your time to report this bug and helping to make Kubuntu better.

This should've been fixed yesterday and I cannot reproduce it with the trusty backport packages anymore. Please refresh your package sources and if it still happens please attach the output of
apt-get -o debug::pkgproblemresolver=1 dist-upgrade
from konsole, thanks!

After apt-get update this morning I still get that:
apt-get upgrade wants to hold back >80 packages
aptitude upgrade wants to hold back >40 packages
Muon wants to remove Kamoso and Tellico but otherwise seems "ok to upgrade". Muon reports that "tellico depends on tellico but it will not be installed", same for Kamoso??

Should have added: on 14.04 with all updates up to KDE 4.13.3 and enabled ppa Updates and (earlier) backports

Fixed the rebuild version for kamoso and uploaded a rebuild for tellico which should help.
Please note that upgrading to 4.14 will require a dist-upgrade as these packages have to be removed:

libkdegames6 libmarblewidget18 libnepomuk4 libnepomukquery4a libnepomukutils4

they're either gone or replaced by newer versions.

The problem here seems to be to do with libmarblewidget18:

libmarblewidget18 : Depends: libastro1 (= 4:4.13.3-0ubuntu0.1) but 4:4.13.97-0ubuntu1~ubuntu14.04~ppa2 is to be installed.

Which is fine. As I said in #4, a non-bugfix kde upgrade is not something you can just apt-get *upgrade* to, you have to use dist-upgrade and remove the packages I mentioned. There's sadly no reasonable way to make them co-installable with the newer versions.
