Cannot set a compose key

If I set a compose key using the keyboard plugin it does nothing.

I tried using capslock as compose key, but it does nothing. Other keys don't seem to work as compose key either.

I can confirm this happening.
Also, everything I try to set in the keyboard plug isn't applied, not only the compose key (e.g.: I set the capslock key as a second Ctrl key, but it works as usual)

Apparently it sets the options in org.gnome.libgnomekbd.keyboard.options, which doesn't work (no idea why).
Manually setting the options in org.gnome.desktop.input-sources.xkb-options (e.g. ['compose:ralt']) works as a workaround.
