Bug Description

I tried to make Ardour play a WAV file I recorded the other day but it only produces something that sounds like morse. The file plays o.k. in Audacity and Totem.

I am using a fully updated Gutsy. JACK has been configured to match the file's samplerate.

Maybe this has something to do with Bug #134146. I, too, had the problem described there after the 2.6.22-10.30 kernel update and when the fix came I could hear audio at a proper sound level again. However, since the fixing update the sound to me sounds far scratchier and uncleaner than before the update to 2.6.22-10.30 and before the update to fix the 2.6.22-10.30 problem. Irrespective of that, an Open Movie Editor 0.0.20070607 test package I obtained recently does not start any more since that fixing update a couple of days ago, telling me

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 beta or later?
