First, as the purpose of this SRU request is ppc64el support, my understanding is that this needs to be an update to 2.3+0.12.gcb5b746-1, which is the first version in Debian that builds on ppc64el.

Second, we don't pull new upstream packages in as SRUs except in very specific circumstances. A full upstream update (from 1.2-OFED-1.4.2-2 to 2.3+0.12.gcb5b746-1) is unlikely to be warranted in 14.04.

If the patch from https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=751792 is sufficient to enable ppc64el support for perfstat, then we should pull just that patch instead.
