Install "RELEASE" appears on sidebar although latest version is installed

Bug Description

Upon installing the "latest" RELEASE, there's no indication of the version being installed and the system does not realize the version (14.04 LTS) is already installed.

If one installs ubiquity package, it is added on the unity launcher... and if one is not running live cd it does indeed says placeholder text.

Can you please explain what steps did you do, and how did you get to the state that is troubling? Could you also attach screenshot and/or photograph?

At the end of installation ubiquity packages remove themself and are not present on the installed system (unless one installs in the OEM config mode, in that case ubiquity self-removes only after end-user configures the system during first boot).
