Virgin Thunderbird account 14.04.2 LTS 64bit.
Thunderbird 31 coming from Ubuntu updates. Xfce DE.
Writing message Thunderbirt just crashed and closed windows. Don't know what happend, suppose logs included with bug report could help.

Just to add, I just triggered Thunderbird crashing, when opening Edit>Preferences... While Message writing window still had focus...
