Bug Description

I'm running on Ubuntu Feisty.

When opening any java applet, firefox freezes for a moment(2 to 7 seconds, I think) and then comes back with the applet running.

The expected behavior would be balancing the load, avoiding to freeze the whole browser, so the user can scroll the page, or view other tabs while the applet loads.

Thank you Wladston Viana for your report,

I can't reproduce the described behavior with firefox (2.0.0.6+1-0ubuntu1) and java-plugin (1.5.0-11-1ubuntu2).

Can you please describe a detailed test case to reproduce that behavior. Please indicate also what plugins/extensions do you have enabled.

Thank you in advance

Hilario, thanks!

Well, when you said to report the extensions, I tried to disable them and see what happened. Turned out that The Adblock extention (adblock plus 0.7.5.1) is causing the problem.

After disabling it, all the applets opened as expected.

Thank you for your feedback,

We are going to close this bug report since it was caused by a third party extension which we can do anything about it. You might want to report it upstream directly.

Thanks for your contribution. Don't hesitate to submit new crashes,

H. Montoliu
