USB sound card worked fine until I installed software package updates. Not sure which one.

This is also happening to me, 14.04 with 3.13.0-53-generic kernel.

Output from $ pacmd list-sinks attached.

I can hear sound, and the left/right channels work correctly, but any sound that comes through is crackling/robotic. I have the FiiO E17K connected via USB.

I have just restarted, keeping the FiiO plugged in, and everything seems to be working now.

This release of Ubuntu is no longer receiving maintenance updates. If this is still an issue on a maintained version of Ubuntu please let us know.
