Bug Description

Binary package hint: mozilla-firefox

Whenever I launch Firefox from the terminal, the following error keeps propping up:

LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library /usr/lib/firefox/plugins/nppdf.so [/usr/lib/firefox/plugins/nppdf.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32]

The file in question nppdf.so is 46MB in size unlike the other files in the folder...

$ ls -lah /usr/lib/firefox/plugins/nppdf.so
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 4.6M 2007-06-08 18:27 /usr/lib/firefox/plugins/nppdf.so

$ ls -lah /usr/lib/firefox/plugins/
total 4.6M
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4.0K 2007-08-24 11:40 .
drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 4.0K 2007-08-24 11:40 ..
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 41 2007-04-22 13:11 libswfdecmozilla.so -> ../../mozilla/plugins/libswfdecmozilla.so
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 11K 2007-07-31 18:59 libunixprintplugin.so
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 4.6M 2007-06-08 18:27 nppdf.so
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 40 2007-04-22 13:04 nsdejavu.so -> ../../netscape/plugins-libc6/nsdejavu.so

Is this something to be worried about?

(I'm not sure whether this is a security issue - just CCing to the security team so that they might take a look)

is that installed by some plugin package? or did you manually copy
this file to that place (or ran an installer you found on the web?)?

I'm sorry, but I don't have this installation anymore. I guess we could close this bug.

But I definitely did not run "an installer found on the web" when this issue occured :P
