Bug Description

I'm trying to start a wifi hotspot to share my mobile broadband connection using gnome-control-center's hotspot option in network-preferences in Ubuntu 14.04 where I just did apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade.

The applet says the hotspot is started but no other devices can find the network.

when using ap-hotspot I had to downgrade to hostapd_1.0-3ubuntu2.1_amd64.deb for the hotspot to work.

FluxKing,

It works fine for me with gnome-control-center 1:3.8.6-0ubuntu5 on Utopic's daily image, :)
