Bug Description

I would like to add a standard user to Linux Mint 17 64bit. I am running VM RealPlayer 6.xx on Windoze 7 64bit host. I found the Users and Groups, entered password, Entered Full Name and User Name and but nothing happens when I click ADD. I thought I would be able to see the new user in the list and set password, but nothing happens. I have logged out, shutdown, restart, updated Linux Mint, still does not work. My installation is only about 1month old. I do not think it is corrupt, but have no way of verifying.

Also, am I supposed to post this on GitHub instead?
Thanks for your help.

I got the same problem. I'm running mint 17 64bit installed on intel i5 laptop vpccb15fd vaio system as second OS. Could not add any user using graphical interface. I chose standard user, put name and password and click add but the window doesn't disapear and nothing hapened.

When adding in command line it works but user is not choosable from login screen. When going on user management the user is there but cannot choose any image as avatar.

After testing a bit more... I deleted user to make a "resh start" use "su" in terminal to log as administrator and use this command:
useradd -m -d /home/test -p test -s /bin/bash Test.

The user is created and choosable from the start login screen, but when entering password test or Test or "test" or Test the login failed and tell me password wrong respect the case or something like that (sory my OS is in french I don't know exactly whats the message in english).

Try to log in terminal using : Su Test . After entering password the message "su : Échec d'authentification" (means authetification failed).

I received an awnser from ask ubuntu, even if it was "off-topic". Try to avoid capital letters and special french characters like " é è ".
It worked for me. Good Luck
