Bug Description

This package disables the ability to write special characters in libreoffice.
Open libreoffice, write some special characters ěščřžýáíéé for example USING combination of letters, like ˇe, ˇs,'a etc. for ě,š,á.
Then switch to another window, then back to libreoffice
all you can write now is e, s, a etc.

ěščřžýáíé has their own key in czech keyboard.
Other letters that do not have special keys in keyboard need to be activated with ˇ or ' and the letter.

Special characters that has special buttons like ěščřžýáí works, but those that need combination of keys do not work. (like ú etc.)

Uninstallation of libreoffice-kde is workaround.

I can confirm that this bug is still present in Kubuntu 15.04 with Plasma 5.3 (KDE Update PPA).

Steps to reproduce:

1) do a fresh install of Kubuntu 15.04
2) set keyboard to 'english - US, international with dead keys'
3) ' + e yields é in every application EXCEPT for Libreoffice (in fact, ' and " cannot be used at all anymore)

Workaround:

4) apt-get remove libreoffice-kde
5) apt-get install libreoffice-gnome
6) now ' + e yields é in Libreoffice

I can confirm that this happens to me with libreoffice-gtk and libreoffice-gtk3 too.

In a fact I can't write it in any other program either. But when I uninstall above packages, I can write it correctly at least in LibreOffice.

Wierd thing is, that it works correctly on my Dell Vostro 3500 in every program, with exactly same xubuntu version (16.04), but doesn't work on my Lenovo ThinkPad T440p. Installed from same media, both up to date, same language and keyboard layout settings.

Hi, I was able to solve it by installing "ibus" package.
