Bug Description

I am running an updated hoary, and Firefox, and thunderbird are crashing allot,
completely randomly. Usually when clicking a link, hitting the back button,
whatever loads a new page to be rendered. The program just disapears of the
screen, crashes hard. I opened it in the terminal to see if It said anything, it
didnt. Its runs fine for a few minuets after being started again, but crashes
again eventually. Its not always the same links that cause the problem too. I
have been getting more crashes for instance on Gmail pages but maybe thats
because I use it so much.

I uses Hoary's Firefox quite a lot, and uses it on Gmail everytime the browser
is running, and I can't remember experiencing one crash with it.

This just started since my last update, crashes also happen on google
search pages, ubuntu bugzilla, which is pritty much everywhere that I
have been on the web tonight.

Galeon and Epiphany are also crashing on me, seems like a Gekko
related problem perhaps, cause Dillo is running fine

I restarted my computer a couple times, problem seems to have taken a hiatus. I
feels like M$ again though.

Have you tried to run Firefox after removing your ~/.mozilla directory to see if
it is more stable? Maybe doing that would narrow it down to the application
itself, or somethig in your configuration (extension, plugin, old config file, etc).

Also, do you have the Composite extension enabled in X?
Daniel's suggestion of creating a new profile and testing with that is also a
good one; run mozilla-firefox from the command line as:
mozilla-firefox -CreateProfile test
also, 'mozilla-firefox -safe-mode' will disable all plugins including system
ones and give you some debugging messages.
