Bug Description
In the google-maps webapp (a click package on ubuntu touch by Timo Leppiniemi), the osk handles default upper- and lowercase settings the wrong way around. When you start typing text, the first letter will be in lowercase and all the following in uppercase. Expected would ofcourse be the opposite. I have only seen this happen within this particular app.
I am on ubuntu touch utopic channel devel r #119. Device: Mako

I can reliably reproduce, and I’m also seeing the cursor in the wrong position, always at the start of the field.
This particular webapp uses the old policy (version 1.0), meaning that by default the webapp container uses QtWebKit as a backend. The new policy (starting from 1.1 IIRC, use 1.2 to target 14.10) will by default use Oxide, which is not affected by this bug.
Unfortunately we can’t commit resources to fixing bugs in QtWebKit, now that our focus is on Oxide. Updating the app to use the new policy should do the trick. I’m subscribing Timo to this bug in case he’s interested in updating his app.
