Bug Description
As it was suggested in Bug #131368 by Tim Gardner, I will open a new bug as it affects an other model.
I'm running Gusty on a DELL Latitude D620 notebook with a docking station. After the latest update (to 2.6.22-10-generic), I can only control the built-in speaker of the notebook -- a speaker connected to the docking stations stays mute. Before the updated, I couldn't control the volume of a speaker connected via the docking station, but at least it got an audio signal.
Additionally, I could choose whether the input-source is the built-in mic, an external mic or if it should act like an input line. This is gone now too.
To sum up, before the move of snd_hda_intel into l-u-m, I could:
* control the volume of the internal speaker
* had an audio signal on the docking station
* could choose which kind of input source I had connected
After the move, I can only:
* adjust the volume of the internal speaker
* an external speaker connected to the docking station stays mute all the time
* I cannot change the type of input source any more
N.B.: In windows, I can control the volume of a speaker connected to the docking station as well - I never could do this in linux, but I could live with it this way.
See the comment I added at the end of Bug #131368 for what appears to be a fix. (I recompiled linux-ubuntu- modules with changes to the snd-hda-intel Makefile
