Constant 429 Errors

I know this keeps getting dismissed on twitter with the usual "quit polling so often" answer, but I don't find it that simple. I've got Polly set to poll once every 5 minutes. Yeah. 5 minutes! I've got my mobile devices set to live stream and get no errors from Twitter at all. With Polly, they're bloody constant! Polly never seems to disconnect from Twitter. The little whirly gig in the top left hand corner is constantly spinning, as are at least one of the 3 twitter accounts it connects to. It never stops.

Clearly there's a problem with how Polly handles refreshes somewhere.

Running on Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit.

Describe how many accounts you are using and which columns you have open.

Also, start Polly from the terminal and describe what gets printed.

Okay... I have three accounts each with the columns:

* Home+mentions
* Mentions
* DMs

Starting from the terminal, here's what gets printed out:

And then, for each account, it prints this, over and over (the reconnect times vary, but it's the same error):
