ISAPI plug-in Error Message:

When I try to login with user name and password (whether valid or not) to the web site www.silabs.com I get a white screen report which says:-

However it works fine in Konqueror and on windows Firefox. I had a similar problem on another web site a few days ago, and again its was fine in Konqueror and windows Firefox.

What user-agent string does konqueror submit for you? Maybe it passes
IE or something?

nevermind ... please try to go to about:config (type this in location
textfield and hit return) and then change the setting for

general.useragent.extra.firefoxComment

... replace the word feisty ... with fiesty

and see if that helps for now.

Hello Alexander,

I have done some research on user agents. It would seem then, that this is not
a bug at all, but the fault of a) The bad handling of the user agent string
of the web sites server b) Microsoft for messing up and confusing the
standards for user agent reporting in the first place.

But I am curious to know why simply miss-spelling feisty stops the web server
falling over!

Because you are using a firewall from an ignorant software vendor who
doesn't care that he identifies any user-agent string that contains
IST as a trojan .... if you have a support contract with your firewall
vendor, please punch them to drop their stupid IST-trojan rule.

its a bad firewall configuration ... as pointed out in mail before. In
the bug i mentioned there is an instruction how your admins can
disable that rule.

But if you have the power, please kick your firewall vendor for
doing something that stupid and ignorant. AFAIK, this has been
reported multiple times to them (e.g. that they break all browsers
that contain feisty in their user-agent) ... but they never reacted.

Well i am sorry, that i might have sounded a bit angry in this mail,
but this issue pops-up frequently and is a major annoyance imo...

... now that I read your bug again i see that you have the problem
with just one site ... which means that the firewall is not on your
site and you can probably not do much about it other then contacting
the hoster of the site and explaining the case to them ... maybe point
them to the bug i marked this one a duplicate from.
