Bug Description

polypaudio-alsa plays only on the first sound card. This breaks GNOME audio for
people who have reconfigured their default ALSA card via .asoundrc.

ESD used to have this bug too, perhaps taking a look at:

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144318
http://cvs.gnome.org/viewcvs/esound/audio_alsa09.c?rev=1.12&view=log

Can help?

If I submit a patch, what are the chances of it being accepted and the bug fixed
in time for Hoary?

Use the default ALSA device instead of the first sound card.

The patch isn't complex. ;-)

This has been fixed in Breezy's polypaudio version for a while now.
