Binary package hint: nautilus

I have freshly installed gutsy (Alpha 4), and templates doesn't work (I use the French translation),

I have added new templates in the ~/Templates folder and it not work,

I have to change XDG_TEMPLATES_DIR="$HOME/" to XDG_TEMPLATES_DIR="$HOME/Templates" in ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs

and after it work.

Thank you for your bug. What did you add to the Templates directory? Did you restart nautilus? How are they not working correctly? Are the item listed in the nautilus submenu?

They items are not listed anymore (i have rebooted all the computer)

I have added the templates of openoffice, and an empty file (because the default empty file templates doesn't work too ...)

I have XDG_TEMPLATES_DIR="$HOME/" ... i saw the problem ...

I have changed it to XDG_TEMPLATES_DIR="$HOME/Templates" and now I show the list ...

But the templates of the list (added by this modification, and the default empty file) doesn't work anymore ...

I have tested with the English translation of Ubuntu and it work, but back to french it re have the problem ...

does it work if you right click on the item to activate it? the non working issue looks like bug #121796

Ah !!!! Good idea it is maybe related to this problem ... nautilus have a lot of problems for the moment ...

But it is possible not ... because the problem is that the new file is not created ... and the other bug you can't open the file with another application than the default ...

the bug is a GTK one and it makes submenus not work correctly, did you try to right click on an item?

Yes when i right click on an item it work magically !

The problem is just the auto-configuration of the ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs

The value is correct for a new user, unconfirming, not sure how it has been changed to a wrong value

I confirm, it work for a new user, or in an just migrated Feisty->gutsy system ... it is just for Alpha 4 ...

That works for the submitter now, no duplicate and that seems to work correctly, closing. Feel free to reopen if you still get the issue though
