Bug Description

I don't use Ubuntu myself, so I'm hoping to find someone who can help update the stale packages currently imported from Debian testing-as-of-the-time-Ubuntu-released.

Trusty has 3.10.0, which has numerous bugs, some of which are security issues. I recently released version 3.10.5 with (ONLY) fixes for over 140 bugs since 3.10.0. I believe BFGMiner does qualify for the stable release "micro release exceptions" rule especially since it has --unittest and --benchmark options to check against regressions.

Furthermore, most of the code in BFGMiner is in the form of drivers for specific hardware, which is always growing. So, it may be desirable to keep the latest version in Ubuntu.

In any case, making the latest available via backports seems like a no-brainer. :)

Someone needs to actually test that the package works fine on trusty before we allow it into the backports archive.

Could you please provide the backport for bfgminer? It is one of the best miners and it's a shame that it can't be installed on LTS with just apt-get. Moreover, older version of the software are less performing and less secure.

Thank you
T.

PS: with detailed instrucitons I can test.
