Bug Description

I run Ubuntu 14.04 and installed the partners repository, through there I installed the vmware-view-client. The software works as intended, exception to the sound problem. Receiving sound through the vmware-view-client does not work at all, I get no sound coming through. I have sound working through other programs, such as (Firefox with Adobe Flash, Example: youtube) My sound card is:
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset High Definition Audio (rev 05)
If you need any more information please let me know.

After some digging I was able to fix the problem following a comment on this blogpost: http://stegsolutions.com/getting-the-vmware-horizon-view-2-3-client-installed-in-ubuntu-14-04-with-usb-support/

Installing one or all of the following packages resolved the issue:
libgstreamer0.10-0:i386
gstreamer0.10-plugins-good:i386
gstreamer0.10-pulseaudio:i386

This issue affected me but installing the three packages above fixes the problem. I attempted libgstreamer by itself and it did not resolve the problem. I installed the last two at the same time but suspect it to be the -pulseaudio package that fixes it as I have seen some other documentation that the client defaults to audio output through pulse.

sudo apt-get install gstreamer0.10-pulseaudio:i386 worked.

Just make sure that the output port pulse picks for the VMWare client is correct, it was piping through the headphone port by default.
