Bug Description

Sound worked perfectly on ubuntu 12.04 LTS, no more after upgrade to 14.04 LTS.
Tryed to execute live usb stick with ubuntu 12.04 LTS and it works fine.

I had the same problem with this upgrade and an ICH6. Alsamixer and 'm' for unmute fixed it. The mute state is not at all obvious; I would guess its starting value/default changed?

Yes default values have certainly been changed, now I'll try to save these new configuration.
