Bug Description

Dear OCS Team,

Please fix OSC NG Agent due generating duplicate MS Office entry.

I've been testing OCS NG Agent: 2.0.3, 2.0.4, 2.0.5, 2.1rc1 2.1 till 2.1.1 they are still same.

Server: Win Server 2008 x86
Client OS: Win XP SP3 & Win 7 SP1
Office: MS Office 2003 SP3 & Office 2007 (and some with SP3)

We will wait for the next release.., thank you.

Hi.

Please, could you run OCS 2.1.1 agent with the following command line parameters ?

ocsinventory.exe /debug=2 /xml

then, send me every .log file and .xml generated into OCS data folder.

Hi,

As said in bug #1276741, wrong office compoents, OCS reports what listed into "Add/remove programs" or "Programs and functionaalities" control panel applet, not the components listed into Office installer.

There is independant installer found on the system. But each installer can allow installing more than one components. For example, Office ProPlus installer allow to install Access,Excel,Word... But there is special installers for french translation of Access,Excel,Word..., and they are only used for installing french translation, not the product itself...
There is also an independant installer for 32 bits and 64 bits of each components.

That's why what you see in OCS is not really the same as in Office installer.

You can see "Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010" in 64 bits and "Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010" in 32 bits, because there is 2 independant installer.

The only way to get what you see in Office installer is to launch it. It is not possible at each inventory :-(

we found this problem for all Office versions and also using latest agent version (2.1.1)
In attach some examples and logs using debug.

I have the same problem here. My server is an Oracle Linux 7 and my OCS Inventory version is 2.9.

What I have to do?
