Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

Since there's a new applet to configure X (display-config-gtk), drop the simpler gnome-display-properties since it duplicates functionality

But the new config tool will be accessed through an advanced menu of the gnome-display-properties

From the wiki:

"displayconfig-gtk will be accessed from the existing System > Preferences > Screen Resolution dialog, via an "Advanced..." button on that dialog."

So the old applet still does have a place.

I believe this bugreport is invalid, the old configuration tool will still be used for simple resolution switches by beginner users.

The wiki does mention a possible removal of the old tool in the future, but for now, at least, the tool is still required.
