But the new config tool will be accessed through an advanced menu of the gnome-display- properties
From the wiki:
"displayconfig-gtk will be accessed from the existing System > Preferences > Screen Resolution dialog, via an "Advanced..." button on that dialog."
So the old applet still does have a place.
