Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

I can open evolution without any problems, i can also send and receive mails but when i try to open a mail form my inbox or any other mail folder i ever created the program crashes. When running evolution from the command line i am getting the following error at the moment it crashes:
Floating point exception (core dumped)
Hopefully any of you is having an idea? Cause I really can't read any mail and I have to!

When trying to make a backtrace evolution doesn't crash anymore :s It just freezes, when running it without the backtrace it still crashes
But apperantly there is more going on with this system :s Even AWN is acting strange and slow and CompizFusion also. All this happend this afternoon. I must tell you I updated my system this morning with the latest compiz version.

I have the same problem as dirken, which started only recently. When trying to do a backtrace, as dirken said, it freezes. I have done a backtrace after installing evolution-dbg, but I don't think it has produced anything important. In any case, here's both the backtrace and the strace.

Well I guess I found what's wrong with my pc. I just installed a new iconpack for gtk (gTanish2.0) and now it seems that causes the crash.
So topic may be closed unless anyone know how to edit this icon pack so it works even with evolution (It's just that I like that iconpack so much :) )

Where did you get the icon theme? It might be buggy but evolution should still not crashOutput from python in attached files.

Eight CPUs are shown in resources tab but the initial state is for the last four to all have the same colour (red).

got the theme from gnome look but it seemd there was something wrong with the theme's config file.
Maybe evolution is wanting to load an icon and can't find it?

there is no gTanish theme on gnomelook, could you give the URL to download it?

I can confirm that its that Icon Theme as well. I changed the icon theme, and I no longer have that problem. Its the gTangish one.

I think Evolution should handle this more gracefully - a crash caused by a misconfigured icon theme is not really acceptable for a professional pim application. I'd say the bug should get fixed in Evolution.
