Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

I see I keep getting this error in /var/log/daemon.log:

Aug 17 18:10:33 cimer NetworkManager: <info> Error getting killswitch power: org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.KillSwitch.NotSupported - Access type not supported

And I get _lots_ of it. I haven't been toying with the killswitch at the time (it doesn't work most of the time).

Forgot to mention: this is on an up-to-date Gutsy, running on a Dell Latitude D620 with ipw3945 wireless. The network works.

I can confirm that behavior, although I have a different wireless network card (Broadcom chipset running with ndiswrapper). The laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1721 and the network works properly.

I confirm it with a Dell Latitude d610 (Intel ipw2200), I dont know if it is the cause but I have random freeze of my pc after the Gutsy upgrade (yesterday)

This is a duplicate of bug #131835. You can find a workaround there.
