Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem,
2. the behaviour you expected, and
3. the behaviour you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).

I have not been able to reproduce your issue. Please try again with the latest Ubuntu (Hardy Heron) which contains the same version of vorbisgain that you reported the issue with (0.36-3), Please give the specific command you have the problem with, and the output.

Thanks!

To put it simply, the Ubuntu package is not configured with the "--enable-recursive" option.

Forgot to add, as to the first problem, the vorbisgain in Feisty Fawn fails with wildcards such as:

       vorbisgain -a *.ogg

where as my copy, compiled from pristine source, works. Sorry I can't test this out any further since I don't have Ubuntu installed at the moment.

Thanks for your reply. I have successfully used both the recursive option (-r) and 'vorbisgain -a *.ogg' to tag some files on my Hardy installation (I have verified it did this successfully). The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the latest release - Hardy Heron. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can determine what is causing this issue. Thanks again!
